The Siretta range of industrial low power modem solutions are a family of cellular enabled modems which have been designed to an industrial specification to allow an easy connection for remote devices over the internet. The family of products supports a standard set of features including low power operation with a wide range and robust power supply, RS232 and USB serial connectivity and extended temperature spec as standard.

Each member of the modem family supports an embedded TCP/IP stack for simple network connectivity and an enhanced set of AT commands to support many advanced features such as FTP, email, SMS, CSD, direct data socket connections and over the air software updates. As a result the units are designed to be used as a direct replacement for existing equipment and can be easily setup with the correct commands to operate out-of-the-box.

Siretta ZETA Industrial Modems have been designed to interface existing equipment with cellular connectivity. The application notes listed here show how to use the modem in many different applications and describes powerful functions to enhance existing systems.

The SirettaSPARK Tool is an automated device management application developed by Siretta to simplify the process of keeping your devices up to date with the latest software and firmware. Software updates provide new features, performance improvements and bug fixes to applications developed by Siretta and enhance your products overall capabilities. Firmware updates provide improvements to the devices core operation, add performance improvements and enhance device network interaction.

Both of these elements are important to keep your device running in optimal condition and the SirettaSPARK tool helps to make this process simple and easy.

The SirettaSPARK Tool automates software and firmware updates for all of your Siretta devices and offers the following benefits:

  • Simplified device management
  • Ensures devices have the latest firmware and software installed
  • Increased performance and operating improvements
  • Apply the latest bug fixes

In addition the SirettaSPARK Tool incorporates advanced features which offer the following:

  • Debugging tools saved locally to a log file
  • Debugging tools saved remotely to Siretta’s servers
  • Device configuration tools for application management
  • Simple network connectivity logging tools

The SirettaSPARK integrated tools provide automated device updates and allow the Siretta Engineering team to understand and debug any underlying issues with your application integration remotely.

Siretta USB Device Drivers

To connect your industrial modem, network signal analyser or intelligent cellular application to your OS of choice, you will need to install the relevant USB drivers for your system. Please see the supported drivers below which should be used to ensure correct operation of your USB communication on your OS.

Can I use my mobile to control Siretta modem?

It is possible to control the Siretta modems using a mobile phone.

Please refer to the How to set up a Siretta modem using SMS AT commands Application Note. 

Does Siretta provide a SIM card for their modems?

Siretta do not provide a SIM cards with their modem family.

It is generally more cost effective to purchase SIM cards from your chosen network provider.

Siretta offer comprehensive support if customers are having difficulty with connectivity with all networks.

Does Siretta offer a global modem solution?

Our Global solution products contain GL in the product name.

ZETA-N2-GPRS (GL) is an Industrial GPRS modem

ZETA-G-GPRS (GL): Is an industrial GPRS modem with GPS

ZETA-NEP-LTEM (GL)  is an Low Power modem that supports the Global LTE Cat M1 and NB1 networks.

ZETA-NLP-LTEM (GL) is an Ultra Low Power  NBIoT modem that supports the Global LTE Cat M1 and NB1 networks.

How many Pins does a Siretta modem use on its RS232 interface?

All Siretta modems use the full 9 wire interface pins on the RS232 port.

What is the SIM card size to use with Siretta modem’s?

All Siretta modem’s use the standard SIM size 2FF form factor which is 25mmx15mm.

What interfaces are supported on a Siretta Modem?

All Siretta modem’s have a full 9-wire RS232 interface through a DB9 connector and USB full speed through a USB mini B connector.

In addition some models support an external GPIO header which includes the following:

  • 3 x General Purpose Inputs
  • 2 x General Purpose Outputs
  • 1 x Serial port (TXD, RXD, GND)
  • 1 x 0-42V ADC
  • 1 x VIN Power Input / Output

What is the operating voltage for Siretta modem?

The operating voltage for all Siretta modems is 5 – 42V.

We recommended 12V DC as standard.

Idle Power consumption for some of our modems are as follows:

ZETA-N2-GPRS (GL): Idle: 25mA @ 12v

ZETA-G-GPRS (GL): Idle: 45mA @ 12v (with GNSS)

ZETA-N-LTE (EU): Idle: 45mA @ 12v

ZETA-NLP-LTE1 (EU): Low Power Idle: 1.2mA @ 12v

ZETA-NLP-LTEM (GL): Low Power Idle: 715uA @ 12v

ZETA-NSP-LTE1 (EU): 10.1mA @ 12v

ZETA-NEP-LTEM (GL): Low Power Idle: 4.3mA @ 12v

 

Is it possible to send SMS messages using a Siretta modem?

All Siretta modems support SMS messages.

The SMS service must be enabled on the SIM.

What accessories come with a Siretta modem?

Siretta modems do not come with any accessories.

If you require a modem with all the accessories, we offer an Starter Kit for all Siretta modems
